Thousands of Durga Puja pandals are erected in Kolkata for Durga Puja 2010. Many award winning eco-friendly Durga puja are celebrated in South Kolkata and North Kolkata. Khidderpore Palli Sharodiya Durga Puja, 22 Palli Northern Park, Pally Unnayan Samity, Roopchand Mukherjee Lane, Bosepukur Talbagan, Behala Nutan Dal, and many more Durga Puja pandals are included in this list of popular Durga Puja pandals in Kolkata for Durga Puja 2010.

Khidderpore Palli Sharodiya Durga Puja Pandal
Khidderpore Palli Sharodiya Durga Puja is one of the oldest Durga puja pandals in Kolkata and West Bengal. Theme of this Durga Puja 2010 is ‘Mahamayar Mayajaal’ which is a combination of creative events. This puja pandal is non-inflammable and fire resistant. Khiddepore Palli Sharodiya Durga Puja 2010 will be inaugurated on 10th October 2010, Maha Tritiya.
Kidderpore Palli Sharodiya Durga Pandal won many awards. In 2009, it won Asian Paints Best Pujo, Star Ananda – Mega Star, etc.
22 Palli – Northern Park Durga Pandal
22 Palli Northern Park Durga Puja Pandal for Durga Puja 2010 has been inspired by ‘Talgaachh’, the popular poem of Sri Rabindranath Tagore. In 2010, 22 Pally will celebrate its 66thDurgotsava with the theme of offering Shraddanjali (tribute) to Vishwakavi.

Pally Unnayan Samity Durga Puja Pandal will celebrate 2010 Durga Puja with the traditional theme of Rajasthani culture. This is the real blend of Rajasthani and Bengali cultures. It is one of the innovative Durga pandals to initiate the thought of displaying idols in the form ofRajasthani wood puppets.
In 2009, Pally Unnayan Samity Durga Pandal was the winner of Anand Bazar Patrika’s Best of 5 within Kolkata & 10 in West Bengal, etc.
Roopchand Mukherjee Lane Sarbojanin Durgotsab:
Roopchand Mukherjee Lane Sabojanin Durgotsab will celebrate one of the oldest Durga Puja of Kolkata in 2010. They are celebrating their 64th year of Durgotsav. This is one of the best eco-friendly Durga Puja pandals in the state.
Bosepukur, Talbagan Durgotsav:
Bosepukur, Talbagan is one of the popular Durga Puja in South Kolkata. Talbagan are best known for their innovative themes that are created using unused materials. For 2010, they will be creating a theme, UNITY, with using plastic. Bosepukur, Talbagan, has won many awards in 2009 including I Core- Sreshtha Pratima, RADs’- Sreshtha Pujo, and Asian Paint’s within Shera Baro, etc.
Behala Nutan Dal:
Behala Nutan Dal, one of the popular Durga Puja in South Kolkata, will be celebrating 46th year of Durga Puja in 2010. They are planning to come up with an excellent theme which can represent their cultural and artistic flamboyance in most comprehensive manner.
Behla Nutan Dal has won Star Ananda’s Blockbuster, Channel 10 – Aircel’s Sharad Mukut Srestha Shilpi Award, etc. in 2009.
Bosepukur Parijat Club:
Bosekhpur Parijat Club will be celebrating 36th year of Durga Puja. This time they are coming up with an innovative theme that displays everything with paper.
Bosepukur Sitala Mandir
Bosepukur Sitala Mandir is one of the oldest Durga Puja in Kolkata. Chakradhara is the theme ofDurga Puja 2010 which displays the integration of stars and modern lifestyle. The committee has started Durga puja in 1951 and today it is one of the most popular Durga Pujas in Kolkata.

The artist favours large canvases, which strengthens emotions in the compositions. His works portray struggle of the common man that he is familiar with. He often chooses children as his subject, detailing larger bromide prints with his acrylic-on-canvas work.
